Ecoboost Engine for Lincoln MKS

EcoBoost engine is Ford’s attempt to compete with competitors increasing engine power while serving the people with a better green kilometers. First introduced in Taurus SHO, now a choice in the Lincoln MKS.
He founded a great power and fuel by combining turbo with direct injection. Engine produces 355hp and 350 ft-pounds of torque 3.5L V6. This in itself is not remarkable achievement in today’s market. Remarkable part is the fuel: the MKS, the EPA estimated 18/27 mpg with front-wheel drive, or 17/24 mpg when equipped with four-wheel drive. This is slightly better than the standard 3.7l engine, although an additional 90 horsepower. A rear wheel drive BMW 550i, which is about the same size and power, only manages 15/22 mpg.
Direct injection also improves the reliability of the engine. The biggest problem with turbocharged engines in the past predetonation, the fuel-air mixture in the cylinder to burn before it is necessary to increase engine wear. By being able to directly inject fuel into the combustion chamber can be used to cool the cylinder wall as the right to determine how burns fuel and air mixture. This technology also improves efficiency – about 5-10% in the non-turbo engines.
